2009 Team of the Year: Brawn GP

Brawn GP was overwhelmingly chosen by YallaF1.com readers as the 2009 Formula 1 Team of the Year. After Honda’s withdrawal, at the end of 2008, Ross Brawn took over the reigns and galvanised the team on a minimal budget but knowing that the BGP001 was a very special chassis. What has since transpired will go down as Formula 1 legend, as the “new” team wnt on to win both the 2009 Formula 1 Constructors and Drivers World Championship.

Brawn GP is a direct descendant of Tyrrell Racing Organisation which was founded by the late Ken Tyrrell. It is hence fitting that the only other team to win the F1 Constructors and Drivers titles on their first attempt was in fact Tyrrell Racing in 1971 with Jackie Stewart in the driving seat of the Tyrrell 003.

Red Bull Racing registered 22% of the votes and was the next most admired team by YallaF1.com readers.
