Feb.23 (YF1) Sebastien Buemi is looking forward to the new season with Toro Rosso as he believes the team’s STR5 is a “solid” car which will give them a positive start when the season gets underway at the Bahrain Grand prix next month. He looks back on the three completed test sessions and Bareclona coming up.

How has 2010 been for you so far?

Sebastien looks forward to a good start to the season in Bahrain

Buemi: February is passing by pretty quickly to be honest, as are the testing sessions. We have been able to do three test sessions with the new Toro Rosso STR5: A first session at Valencia, followed by two more sessions at Jerez

And the F1 testing season?

Buemi: Up to now, let’s keep our fingers crossed, I have to say that the tests are very positive, and we progress according to the plans. It’s very nice and also very promising for the start of the season (in Bahrain), which is less than a month away.

You and your team mate Jaime Alguersuari have had some moments topping the timing sheets but in general you are not consistently at the top. Can you explain this?
Buemi: We were not among the top drivers during these tests, but that was in the plans as well. Don’t look at the times, as we were not looking for raw performance as others were. It will only be during the very last session, at Barcelona, that we will try run with low fuel.

How about the start of the 2010 season which is approaching very fast?
Buemi: At least everything seems positive so far. We are going to enter 2010 with a very solid car. I hope that we will benefit from the traditional start of the season mess to score a few points…
