Adrian Sutil has made a habit of scoring points for Force India this season

Jun.03 (YallaF1.com) Adrian Sutil continued his run of points finishes with ninth place in Turkey, his fourth visit to the top 10 in seven starts for Force India this year. We asked Adrian about his race in Istanbul and the upcoming trip to Canada.

How did things go from the start in Turkey?

Adrian Sutil (GER) Force India F1 VJM03 Formula One World Championship, Rd 7, Turkish Grand Prix, Race, Istanbul Park, Turkey, Sunday 30 May 2010.

Adrian finished ninth in Turkey

Adrian: The start itself was quite OK. I made up a position so I was quite happy, as some of those in front of me had even worse starts. I passed Kamui Kobayashi, but in the next corners he managed to pass me. We had a little battle, and then at the start of the second lap I passed him a second time.

Unfortunately you lost time in the pits. How costly was that?

Adrian: The pit stop slowed us down and I lost two positions. The right front just didn’t go on, and they had to take it back off and put it back on, so we lost a few seconds. It’s a shame because I was really fighting hard in the opening laps. The field is so close at the moment that you have a penalty for every single problem, even if it’s very small.

But after that everything went smoothly?

Adrian: I did a really good race. I could actually pass Kobayashi again near the end, so I actually overtook him three times altogether! Then Petrov had trouble with Alonso and I passed him, and got my ninth position. Apart from the stop it was nearly a perfect race, so I am quite happy with it.

How do you feel about going back to Canada?
Adrian: I have a much better car and I have grown up since the last time we visited. We’ll have a similar goal to Turkey: we’ll concentrate on making it work for the next race, and hopefully we can battle the Renaults again.

Do you like the Montreal track?

Adrian: It’s not easy, because you have to hit the kerbs right. The car is moving a lot with low downforce, so it’s quite easy to get oversteer and to not do a perfect lap. It looks maybe easier than it actually is. A soft car is required to go over the kerbs well, and you need good traction.

Finally, how do you feel about Montreal itself?

Adrian: It’s a great city, a lot of people, a lot of life, a good atmosphere. I’m really looking forward to it, because we don’t have a US GP anymore, and it’s the closest one we have. So it’s good that we have one of the best races back on the calendar.
