Whitmarsh: Team orders ruling not logical
10 September, 2010
Sep.10 (YallaF1.com) The fall out from the FIA verdict regarding Ferrari’s “team orders” in Germany continued as the Italian Grand Prix weekend got underway at Monza.
McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh says the outcome has served only to make things muddy.
In reference to the incident at Hockenheim where Felipe Massa conceded the lead to team mate Fernando Alonso, Whitmarsh said, “They’re either guilty and should be given a penalty, or they’re not guilty and should be given back the fine they received.”
Echoing the sentiments of most of the drivers at Monza he added, “We don’t have clarity – if anything it’s more muddy. Superficially it doesn’t seem as logical a ruling as one would have expected but it has no impact on anything I’m going to do this weekend.”
