Bernie: See what people will do for a Hublot

7 December, 2010

Dec.7 (YallaF1.com) Bernie Ecclestone will feature in a one-off tongue-in-cheek Hublot advertisement in the wake of his recent highly publicised mugging in London. The advert will run tomorrow (8 December) in International Herald Tribune and Financial Times.

Ecclestone was violently mugged in London on 25 November and his Hublot watch was stolen from his wrist. His girlfriend Fabiana Flosi was also a victim in the night time attack.

After the incident, the F1 supremo sent a picture along with a short note to Hublot CEO Jean-Claude Biver the same day. Since the two have a certain shared sense of humor, they agreed to make an advert.

The advert shows the real un-retouched  photograph along with Ecclestone’s original comment which was: “See what people will do for a Hublot.”

When asked if Ecclestone get paid in any way for the advert, Hublot sponsoring manager Mike Croft said, “No. The ad was his idea. To show defiance to his attackers more than anything else! Nothing to do with money.”

Bravo Bernie!

Wow, what a classic way to even the score! After all the wild comments he emitted this last year, I was worried about him. But this shows he can take a hit and come back strong. Maybe he’s “not quite dead yet”!

so with this ad you are saying if anyone need a hublot next time, just go and rob someone who already got one.

good message for the present and the future hublot owners.

maybe in the second sstage of this campaign you might want to share the hublot owners name and address on your website.

concrat for the marketing manager. you must be a smart guy.( nothing to do with the sence of humor. its just simple stupid.)

It puts all the money hungry drivers and team owners and their watch wearing obsession into perspective, as Mr.E declined any payment for the ad.

Mr. E is a living legend.
