F1 champions say Vettel will only get better
8 December, 2010
Dec.8 (YallaF1.com) Former F1 World Champions Sir Jackie Stewart and Damon Hill believe that Formula 1′s newly crowned champion Sebastian Vettel will get stronger in the aftermath of his dramatic triumph, while Stewart is also convinced that Vettel will go on to win the title again.
“Sebastian Vettel will certainly be a multiple world champion,” said Stewart during the British Racing Drivers’ Club annual awards event. “He is hugely talented, has great ability and magnificent focus. We know that because in order to win it this year he had to win the last race.”
The three times F1 World Champion added, “He was fortunate that people like Alonso didn’t get higher up in the standings before the last few races but he is a winner and we will definitely see more from him.”
Speaking at the same event Hill said, “I think Vettel is very strong. He’s been right at the front now for a couple of seasons and this world championship frees him up and I think he’ll be able to relax a little bit, not too much, and enjoy himself.”
The 1996 F1 World Champion said, “And when a driver is enjoying himself he is more of a threat I think, so the pressure’s a little bit off. He’s so young and I think he’s going to have many championships before he retires.”
