Ferrari annual Wrooom gathering underway
10 January, 2011
Jan.10 (Ferrari) Today marks the start of the 21st edition of Wrooom, the traditional start-of-year get-together on the snow of Madonna di Campiglio.
This is when representatives of the specialist media join up with the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro drivers and their colleagues on two wheels from the Ducati Marlboro team.
Ferrari drivers attending include Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Marc Gene, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jules Bianchi while Ducati will have Valentino Rossi at the event for the first time along with Nicky Hayden.
The opening ceremony took place this today at 5.30pm at the Miramonti Canal and is open to the public. This will be the first chance to see the Ferrari drivers wearing the uniform with the new team logo – as of January 1 – as well as the debut of the Santander logo on the drivers’ caps.
The first meeting with the press is scheduled for Wednesday morning when Team Principal Stefano Domenicali will be speaking. The following day it will be the turn of Alonso and Massa.
Alonso was introduced officially as a Ferrari driver at the start of last year’s event.
On Friday the event finishes with the traditional show on the frozen lake of the town in the Trentino region of Italy. This is always a spectacular event where all the drivers will take to the wheel of the Fiat 500 Abarth and karts.
