2 March, 2011
Mar.2 (PVM) Lewis Hamilton is determined to try and annlunce his new management team before the 2011 season opening Autralian Grand Prix.
Speaking during a media day at Dunsfold Park aerodrome, the 2008 world champion said, “Nothing has been signed or fully firmed up. In the next week or so we should hopefully have an announcement. Definitely before Australia.”
Sports management giants IMG and Idols creator Simon Fuller are said to be under consideration for the role.
Hamilton revealed, “One is 85%, and the other is still hanging in there.”
“It’s a big decision to sign with someone for a period of time, but I’m confident with what I’m going to do,” said Hamilton who was managed by his father Anthony until they bust up last year.
Despite this Hamilton senior will still be present at this year’s F1 races as he manages Force India rookie Paul di Resta.
The season opening Australian Grand Prix weekend starts on 25 March in Melbourne.
