Yas Marina Test Day 1: McLaren report

Nov.16 (McLaren) Team report on the first day of the Formula 1 young drivers testing at yas marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, featuring Oliver Turvey (am) and Gary Paffett (pm) in the cockpit of the McLaren MP4-26.

Oliver started the morning focusing on aero data gathering, and followed this by conducting work around the 2012 tyres. This will be further pursued by Gary in tomorrow’s test.

After a break for lunch, Gary tested various systems on next year’s car, including the new car radio.  The successful day of testing concluded with operational background work; testing the equipment and processes in the garage for the MP4-27.
