Rossi hails Ferrari’s 2012 recovery

31 July, 2012

(L to R): Valentino Rossi (ITA) Ducati Desmosedici GP11. Wrooom 2011, Madonna di Campiglio, Trentino, Italy. 12 January 2011.Jul.31 (GMM) MotoGP superstar Valentino Rossi has used Ferrari as an example of an Italian racing team that managed to emerge from a deep crisis and into championship contention.

Increasingly frustrated with his MotoGP outfit Ducati’s lack of progress, the Italian motorcycle great said Maranello based Ferrari turned around a similar slump in a matter of mere months.

“They too were far behind at the beginning, and it was Fernando (Alonso) who made a difference, but then the team also progressed. But, us [Ducati], we do not improve,” he told Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Sorry forgot Surtees (how could I forget), if one could achieve the same as him (an F1 title + 7 motorcycle WDC’s) it must be Rossi. I always was fond of Fogarty and Checa too but comparisons between superbike and moto gp are hard to make.

Rossi for me is the greatest, then Agostini and Doohan. BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYBODY RIDE A MOTORBIKE LIKE CASEY DOES, NOBODY!!! He took a WDC with that crapbike, he really is an extraterrestrial on the bike.

yeah by that comment…he will be with Yamaha next year. Rossi is my favorite rider and Ducati is ruining his legacy.

Honda was able to build and bring a new bike to Laguna Seca this past weekend and Ducati managed to only upgrade a clutch.

Something about Ducati not being able to help out Rossi’s bike.

I don’t know whats going on with that team. I was at the race this weekend watching all the engineers in the paddock and they all just look “un motivated”. Rossi can still ride great he still is top 6 right now…on a slow inconsistent bike. So i help he gets out of there before his legacy is harmed.
