Ouch! Watch Maldonado shunt while doing demo in front of home fans

15 August, 2012

Aug.15 (Apex) Crash prone Pastor Maldonado emerged red faced from the Williams cockpit after he slammed a pavement during a demo run in front of some 20 000 fans gathered to watch the Venezuelan F1 driver – their new national hero – in Caracas. Apparently the bumpy surface caught out the Spanish Grand Prix winner, as the Williams went sideways and slammed the curb causing damage to the left rear wheel. Maldonado was unscathed, although reports note that his ego was somewhat bruised!

    So you’re telling me not to think then you confirm teams are using new parts in demo runs, is that it? Because I saw DC running the 2010 RB6 with a new front wing that looks like a hybrid between Red Bull’s current front wihg and that of the Mercedes.

    If you really want to s*ck Maldonado’s d* so much, keep it to yourself next time, okay pumpkin?

    Hey Jack **S first of all please don’t think. Secondly teams do test their new components in demo runs.

    On a recent visit to Williams F1 a member of the staff made the comment “We have been in a dark place for several years no, last year being one of the worst. This year we are right up there having won in Barcelona and we have a car to compete. All we need now is a more sedate driver.”
    How right he was …….

    @Butterfly
    “It must have hurt Williams even more since they were probably running new stuff on that car – 2 laps out of 12 is not good enough.”

    I don’t think testing using a demo run is legal…..perhaps with Ferrari as an exception?

  17. fools 15 August, 2012 at 7:46 pm

    so did he pass the crash test? lol

  18. Stewy33 15 August, 2012 at 7:35 pm

  19. Jody Renza 15 August, 2012 at 7:25 pm

    Cowboy Pastor was testing how to crash without taking other cars out too.
    At least his sponsors PDVSA got great coverage!!

  20. McLaren Fan 15 August, 2012 at 7:09 pm

    Have to say this is old news now but how long is Frank and the Williams sponsors willing to pay for The Carbon-Crunching Kid to wreck there cars.
    Some one should grow a pair and evict him.

  21. Speedo 15 August, 2012 at 5:52 pm

    He does it again. What an idiot. When will he ever learn.

    @kaka007:

    Nick Heidfeld broke his front wing during a similar event, but not the whole suspension…

  26. Matthias O'keeffe 15 August, 2012 at 4:00 pm

    He is 1 stupid driver… since after his f1 win, he’s been crashing williams’ team car and making them lose money by repairing his car everytime… what a disgrace to f1.
