Horner: Rival teams sure to study Hamilton Twitter post of telemetry

3 September, 2012

Lewis HamiltonSep.3 (GMM) McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh has hinted that his driver Lewis Hamilton is lucky to avoid an internal punishment as the result of the ‘Twittergate’ affair, where he made public sensitive information on the social network.

The 2008 world champion is believed to have been scolded behind closed doors for publishing a highly-confidential telemetry sheet to his million Twitter followers.

Some paddock insiders believe it’s the tip of the iceberg as Hamilton wages “war” with the British team over his unsigned 2013 contract.

Asked if McLaren needs to take action against the 27-year-old, Whitmarsh answered: “No. But it would be interesting to see how other team principals would deal with it.”

Having re-signed Mark Webber for 2012 despite rumours of approaches by Hamilton’s management, Red Bull chief Christian Horner boasted that his drivers would never commit a similar “breach of confidentiality”.

“From what I understand it was car data, and if it was car data then I’m sure every engineer in the pitlane is having a very close look at it,” said Horner.

Yeah Horner please incorporate them into the Red Bulls and lets see how they perform. When did Horner become the McLaren spokes person. I thought he was still at Red Bull. Not done Horner to comment on another team’s driver. Very un-Christian of you. I have not heard any other team Principal making comments on other team drivers unless of course they have caused stupid mistakes causing injury or carnage like the last race. Even then I did not hear Whitmarsh taking Grosjean to task other than defending Lewis stating it was Grosjeans fault.

I used to like him from the beginning of the season, but after all the stupid things that has happen in the last few days, I’m totally over him, McLaren should sack him straight away. He’s just a child spitting his dummy, when things don’t go his way. I’m a big McLaren fan, and I prefer him to be gone. We as fans don’t need these crap from him, putting the team down. I hope McLaren don’t sign him again. I want Kimi back in that car, then we should get better results. Hope he takes his gangsters with him in the lower teams. A very disappointed fan!

Well the knives come out when when he is real down.
Lewis lost a family close member last week all you lot ask how would you be.
Lewis this season has been driving with a mature head this weekend he has had his slight melt down wouldn’t you if you couldn’t understand what was going on.
Last season yes hes head was in the clouds big black rain clouds with red mist.
Lewis has said strange comments and twittered like a twit but give him a break see how he is next week.

Its a shame, i watched him in gp2 and god was he exiting and when he first came to f1 god was he exiting but as time went on he just wasnt the same old lewis, he reminded me of nigel mansell. I dont know why he’s not his old self but i can guess it’s not just one reason, he’s taking a long time to grow up but you can’t just blame him for that. I hope he can sort his life out and by the way i’m a jenson fan.

When the real Lewis Hamilton turns up he’s one of the quickest and best F1 drivers there’s ever been. Unfortunately he’s not been seen for many years now.

Once again I say that he needs to dump his bling-bling pals and the airhead and get back to racing. Martin Whitmarsh should show a bit of backbone and put it to him straight, and put those conditions directly to him. Otherwise, McLaren should dump him.

Hamilton is a very fast driver, but he is not a complete package. He’s got some serious mental problems, which in my opinion does not deserve him a superstar status nor a place in a top team like McLaren. Lewis always had one of the best cars on the grid, so a season or two in a midfield car could cool his head a bit.
