McLaren boss insists no plan-B amid Hamilton exit rumours
6 September, 2012
Sep.6 (GMM) Martin Whitmarsh has rejected claims McLaren is now frantically looking around for a new teammate for Jenson Button, amid stories circulating widely that Lewis Hamilton could be about to jump ship for 2013 to Mercedes.
Paul di Resta, Kimi Raikkonen and even Nico Rosberg have been touted as potential candidates to replace the 2008 world champion.
But team boss Whitmarsh told Sport Bild: “I have no ‘plan B’, because I really think that Lewis is staying.” Some believe that the long-running negotiations, surrounded has they have been by rumours, reveal an impasse, but Briton Whitmarsh insists there is “no fundamental problem”.
“Both parties want to continue to work together, we are just getting over a few details.
“I do think the negotiations will be completed soon,” he added.

Rumor has it that Lewis was made in the McLaren technical center so Ron could have the ultimate driver.
So if Lewis does go to Mercedes (I think not). All martin has to do for plan B is re manufacture another Lewis MK2.
Plan B is most certainly Bottas. There’s a flying finn out there, Ron Dennis has his eye on it, you know it to be true. Hakkinen, Raikkonen, Kovalainen.. If there’s a finnish driver out there, McLaren is for sure interested!
But in all seriousness, They’ll most likely grab someone like Hulkenburg, Di Resta, or even Glock.
