Sep.21 (Ferrari) With the Singapore Grand Prix coming up, the many fans who turn up here for Formula One’s only night race will be greated by an unusual site on the streets of the peninsula, in the shape of a Ferrari 150° Italia built entirely out of Lego bricks.

Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa with the life-size Ferrari F2012 The full scale replica of the 2011 Ferrari 150 ° Italia was built by a 16 strong team of Lego experts. It took six months to design and plan the task and a further ten days to assemble the hundreds of thousands of Lego bricks, fixing them onto a steel chassis. The car features real Pirelli race tyres, a seat that’s big enough to accommodate a driver and an exact replica of the steering wheel, this too made entirely from Lego.

This collaborative project involving Shell and Lego will see this one of a kind Ferrari take a trip through the streets of Singapore, over a ten day period. It will be used to promote the fact that people filling up with V-Power at Shell petrol stations will be able to get a limited edition model of the car.

Completing the range of Ferrari Lego cars that can be aquired are the 458 Italia, F40, 250 GT Berlinetta, FXX and also an Iveco truck, as used by Scuderia Ferrari at the European rounds of the F1 World Championship. After the tour, the 150° Italia will be put on display at the Jurong Point shopping centre from 3 to 7 October so that even more people can see the car close up.

Ferrari and Shell are both the best at what they’re doing. May the partnership last for many-many years more!

Promoting Shell V-Power? Problem with that is it’s doesn’t bloody work! Or at least not like it used to.

Let me explain. I used to run Optimax and then V-Power exclusively on my car. No other fuel would touch it unless I had no option. Then, suddenly I wasn’t getting the same MPG or power.

I emailed Shell and the replied that they’re now having to add Bio-fuel to the mix. Might as well have added water for all the good it did!
