Sep.28 (GMM) In the wake of the announcement that Lewis Hamilton will be racing for Mercedes as from 2013, at the same time the curtain on the ‘second career’ of Michael Schumacher is set to come down.

The future for Schumacher is unclear with the German admitting that his comeback from retirement had not worked out as well as he had hoped.

“I have had three nice years with the team which unfortunately did not go as well as we all would have wanted on the sporting side,” he said in a statement.

What’s even more exciting than Lew Hamilton in a Mercedes? Seeing Schumacher back in a Ferrari!

Time to call it a day. I can understand why MS would want to give it another go, but there is a time and place for everything.
eventually the body will fail. It happens to everyone in whatever profession they might have.
For me, it was hard to give up a 21 year military career. A persons body gives you all the signs and we just have to listen. Deciding to call it a day was the hardest decision of my life. We all have to go through it. every one of us.
For Christ’s sake it’s not like Schumey has to run around and say “I coulda been a contender.”. The man really has nothing more to prove.
I’ve never been a MS fan but his record totally stands alone and pretty much proves it.

At what time are u living…. Schumi is past, y can’t u schumi fans get over it..he was a great driver , achieved everything a formula 1 driver could.. y should ferrari give a damn about schumi this late in his career.. ferrari gave everything in those years when schumi won his championships with the team..

Ferrari owe it to Schumacher big time, to offer him a year.If it wasn’t for him they would still be scraping the barrel.
I am glad he is leaving Merc GP,I wish he had never gone there.

    Vene:

Actually, Felipe just signed a one-year contract with Ferrari, so he’ll stay put for 2013.

Also, Ferrari said they’re more likely to hire Alberto Ascari than bringing Schumacher back.
