Conspiracy theory fueled after Alonso punt by Raikkonen
10 October, 2012
Oct.10 (GMM) A Spanish newspaper reporter has concocted a wild conspiracy theory in the days since Fernando Alonso’s first-lap retirement at Suzuka last weekend.
Diario AS Correspondent Manuel Franco reminded his readers that, at Spa, it was Lotus’ Romain Grosjean who triggered the chaos that ended former runaway championship leader Alonso’s race.
Then in Japan, it was the sister Lotus, driven by Kimi Raikkonen, who made contact with the Ferrari.
“There are suspicious ones in the paddock,” Franco insisted.
Perhaps he is referring to the fact that it was Alonso who pushed Raikkonen out of Ferrari – and, indeed, F1 – at the end of 2009.
Or maybe there is an Enstone factor at play, like when Renault’s Vitaly Petrov blocked Alonso in Abu Dhabi, ultimately costing the Spaniard the 2010 title.
Renault, remember, is now called Lotus, and they both shared an engine supplier with Ferrari’s main championship rival, Red Bull.
“This is F1,” Franco, defending the possible conspiracy, concluded.
Referring to the Raikkonen contact at Suzuka, however, Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali does not smell a rat.
“It was a normal racing accident, as I am sure that Kimi meant no harm,” the Italian is quoted by Auto Motor und Sport.

he is also complained, like 50 times lol, about starting from the dirty side of the track
he really is Mr woe is me.
And once again Alonoso suffers haha
of course he is whining even more after the race, about how unlucky he has been and how LUCKY all others are haha, “vettel will have his bad race!!” he cries lol
C’mon guys, forget ‘Alonso’ and let’s talk about Fernando SANTANDER. As we all are aware, he got his new second name a few years ago and he still has the name – Spain and the most of its banks are not in bankruptcy… Yet. Besides F. Santander would whine and complain even if he were a bullfighter, you know that Spaniards’ national joy, the bulltorturing. It’s a well known truth the Mediterranean people are as adult children and this cry baby Santander ain’t exception.
Zero conspiracy here.
Come on, Petrov was driving for himself.
Roman was fighting with Luis.
Kimi to hit Alonso on purpose, no way, he is not that kind of a man.
Be real people.
Conspiracy is there, maybe, but not in those three situations mentioned.
@Sam, Surely Alonso should have been more careful, lets just be straight here, he pushed Raikkonen off the track, he expects others just to move out of his way, now thats fair enough if he’s lapping them, or they’ve been blue flagged, but Petrov was racing for position, something he’s entitled to do, If Alonso was such a great driver he would have just passed, but he couldn’t, and we all saw the result, the usual fist waving rubbish.
If Alonso doesn’t win this season, and i sincerely hope he doesn’t, then just wait for the excuses, the accusations, and the blame games, from Alonso and LDM, AND the Spanish press, collectively they’re very sore losers, as this article illustrates perfectly.
Ok, I always thought F1 fans were smart, but the reactions to this story show what retards you all are. First off, where in this article are quotes saying Alonso believes there is a conspiracy? There are none, this is the theory of some reporter which he hopes will sell papers. Second, why are you taking this article so seriously? This looks a lot like a parody me, and even if it is meant to be serious, it just some Spaniard trying to make excuses for his countryman, you all act like none of you have any bias towards athletes from your country! Grow up!
This surely rubbish but did fuel some amount of comments. This was a racing incident but surly Kimi should have been a bit more careful because next time he might be unlucky & loses his car.
But As for Mr Petrov in Abu Dhabi 2010, I personally wouldn’t doubt if there was a conspiracy which might have developed over the race. When it was over and Alonso was omitted from what it was suppose to be an easy task championship, I was at the paddock watching Petrov celebrating, sipping & enjoying the splashes of Champagne with the Redbull lot…ugly sight indeed.
I used to think that Hamilton was the biggest cry baby on the grid, Alonso has taken his crown though i think, calling everyone else lucky whilst he and Ferrari have been unlucky, talking out of his ass as usual. Its a measure of just how desperate Alonso and Ferrari are that they’re already compiling a long list of excuses and cleaning off the blame shovel.
Alonso really is a despicable little man, and as the desperation hits new levels we’re bound to see more fist shaking, more accusations of a conspiracy and more blame games, anything and everything will be used to deflect the blame from Alonso and Ferrari.
When Alonso was screaming at the pit “ALL THE TIME YOU HAVE TO LEAVE A SPACE” he was talking to 23 other drivers, but he thinks that rule doesn’t apply to him, thats why he said “YOU” not “WE” I’m really looking forward to him losing his lead this weekend, and watching Vettel open up a lead, doesn’t have to be Vettel, I would rather anyone win but Alonso, then he’d really have something to cry about.
@fools
Had Vettel didn’t have failures in Valencia and italy he will be leading the WDC atleast by 10 Points and if you add the Stupid Incident in Malaysia with Narain He would be atleast ahead by 20 points
And if you count Lewis misfortunes too i don’t think Alonso will have a Chance to win the WDC unless they have a Fast car.
With 3 Non scoring Point Finishes He was Just 4 point Behind Alonso which was troubling you.
@Fools
The Same Point goes to Vettel
He gives every thing to win and When he got win No one will Appreciate him but says it was due to his car but not to his skills
When he got some Problem every one will jump to say that was the Skill of Vettel even if his car had some Problem
All nonsense. Kimi is theoretically in the hunt, so why would he risk it?
Plus, Kimi and Fernando have great respect, even on track. Why would they deliberately do that to each other? Misjudgement by the Red Man, I believe. He may have intended to slow Kimi down, but Kimi didn’t…hence the accident. Simple.
Though he has learnt one thing. Want Kimi to slow down? No way on Earth will he slow for ANYONE
Dear Kenneth…Alonso is not a flop but the team that make him as a flop
ALSO IDIOTS COMPARING LAST YEAR MOVES IS LIKE COMPARING LAST YEARS CAR WITH THIS YEARS CAR
NOW REMEMBER RULEZ CHANGE FROM LAST YEAR TO THIS YEAR IE RULES IN PASSING….
@ fools you said that Alonso leads WDC with 2 DNF. Well may i ask you how many DNF Vettel has?
@ Senna fan…
So why dont you ask the whole grid why Fernando Alonso is the MOST respected driver on the grid today?
Yup because he cries according to you? Hamilton, Kimi, Vettel, Button, Schumi,Massa, and the whole backfield know Alonso is a threat always until he retires. He didnt beat Schumi for 2 WDC for nothing bro. Take a hit of the crack pipe again. Maybe you’ll think differently. Lol
You mad @Senna fan that you follow Alonso on Twitter even though you think he cries like your boy Senna did also back in the day? Ask your boy Prost, thats what he claims. I think You mean you r a Prost fan.
You aint no Senna fan. Your a hater fan. I never seen Alonso crash anyone out to get a WDC? I think he won both his WDC against Schumi the greatest…Oh wait..you didnt remember that either right Prost fan? lol
@Senna legend
Did i say I was a publicist? I think not. So do yourself a favor and and not assume anything about me until I tell you. Got it?
Anyways, Your theory is hideous. You have no room to make excuses because it is what it is..”race incident”
end of story.
Alonso still leads. Change that for him yeah? Good luck
@Senna legend
I like that your a Senna fan.
But your comment is hideous. I’ll tell you why. Because Alonso’s idol is Senna!
So you mentioned Prost who sits and gathers points yet thats like Alonso? lol!
So, Senna is a cry baby too? He did go to stewards office alot in his day. Walked out of driver meetings, and showed alot of frustration when he didnt win GP’s Yet I think he was a brilliant racer and person and I do for Alonso.
So your telling me Alonso cant do the same? Hypocrite u are I must say.
If Alonso racked in Suzuka points would this rubbish article and lame comments from haters exist? Of course not. I guess it was Alonso fault @ Spa too? He should of moved outside huh? To avoid what he couldn’t see like Grosjean and Hamilton? lol
lol… you crackheads who come out of the dark (meaning when Alonso DNF’s) need to eat the pills.
Alonso for WDC on pace !
shut up fools, fool by name, fool by nature
are you the spanish cry baby’s publicist? its not only this incident but many others over the years that show what a dick Alonso is, always crying and whining on his radio for ppl to allow him passed, all his whining about Hamillton because he didnt expect Lewis to be better than him in the McLaren, he and his cheating boyfriend Briatore ruined Piquet’s career for a win
Alonso’s interviews since Sunday amuse me, he sounds so paranoid “everyone is lucky, we are unlucky, maybe next we wlill be lucky” waaaaah waaaah, it sums him up – the only way he can see himself win is when others are ‘unlucky’
remember his pathetic tweet a day later about how he can beat his enemies from the sea and mountains, LOL true idiot.
It is coincidental. But great for Ferrari again ruining Alonso’s title chances as they did with massa and schumi 2006
Every driver feels stress you bums… even Pedro coming from the rear of the grid. Every race is stressful. No one is out there with a smile on there face. Do you guys even know what it takes to be a race driver or do you guys gets erections by only talking bs when most of you are just viewers? I am an athlete and you feel pressure in any sport when you “play to win” No driver goes out to the grid thinking he is going to crash or making up theories to lose. No sport do they do that. So all this bs about the crash gate scandal remarks are stupid and have nothing to do with Kimi or Alonso “race incident” So haters need to calm down…
Remember Alonso still leads by 4 pts on the WDC. Have a good day.
Alonso is not to blame because Kimi is not a threat to Alonso.
He Alonso veered left to avoid Grosjean to draft off Perez and Kimi is behind Alonso trying to pass. Yet thats Alonso fault? Yet Alonso is looking back at his rear tires because the one man named Vettel which is his target is in front? GTFOH…You Alonso haters are smoking the crack pipe again apparently.
So when you people drive your looking behind you more then in front of you? Yeah, yall folks must be smoking the crack pipe big time then.
Kimi wont say anything? Of course he will if he can yell at the team when his car isnt right… which has been reported. Yall are some hypocrites. Crackheads
its funny to see how much stress Alonso feels, in all interviews he is trying to act calm but truth is his chances are dwindling and he just blew 50 point advantage
i have never liked him, he is a crying baby who milks championships by points and not from being the fastest driver, just another chicken shit like Prost who gets helps from above to win
When Alonso Alonso wins…you wont see 30 comments.
However, if someone DNF’s him its Alonso fault? WTF? Where are your theorys other then blaming using excuses from 2010 which we all know Alonso won, that wasn’t his fault Petrov was fighting for his race seat which he still currently is. It was the strategy Ferrari gave him. 2011 Vettel burned everyone yet thats Alonos fault? Lol! You Alonso hater dont see that hes the best. No doubt. With 2 DNF’s he still leads the WDC. I can do this all day lads…tell me why Alonso isnt the best? Guarantee you Ill prove you wrong.
Who on the grid is better then Alonso right now? Schumi? GTFOH.
of course you would say that…but you have no theory other then barking. smh… eat the pills.
Very funny and would make a great movie.
Still, these highly paid drivers and their teams do not have the brains to concoct scenarios like this one. LOL
The funniest part about this rumor (and there’s a lot that’s hilarious) is the insinuation that Petrov “blocked” Alonso at Abu Dhabi in 2010. As far as I can tell, nobody is required to make way if on the lead lap just because Alonso is is behind them on track. Well, except one guy
. Alonso was just too damn slow to pass and Ferrari covered the wrong car (Webber).
@Fools
I’ve never seen or Heard that Kimi was Angry over some one for any reason
Kimi was a Driver who never Complains about other Drivers and the Incidents
Only Alonso to blame! He is pushing Kimi further and further out off the track! I suspect Alonso and ferrari feel the pressure from italian fans… 3rd year for Alonso and no titel for him and ferrari! Alonso must soon be seen as a flop!
@ stewy33 Hahaha, there’s a thought!! so lets see, Webber has to cover Massa in case he takes out Vettel, who could also be under threat from Grosjean, Button might have asked Checo to punt Lewis off, but Lewis might have got wind and told Kobayashi that Checo hates him!! Could be fun, and would be fun if Raikkonen won it
DeMontezemolo has also started laying the blame at the feet of others i see, they’re worried, very worried. Alonso is getting desperate.
To have more fun with this: Imagine if Ro-gro took out Vettel! Than it would be a true conspiracy especially if Kimi would win the race at Suzuka. What could of been…
Alonso is probably feeding this to the reporter.
Also I am wondering if Alonso will order Massa to take Vettel out.
Wow! Is that journo serious ? Alonso pushes Raikkonen off the track and its Raikkonens fault ? You can tell that Ferrari and Fernando are worried, they’re already playing the blame game, maybe Fernando can call his friends Flavio and Piquet and organize another crash ? They’ll blame anyone but themselves “We didn’t win in Korea because it was just to Sunday, its all Sundays fault”
fools, what an appropriate username
You were correct anyway, no correction needed, Alonso is indeed a dirty driver, and one that think everyone should move out of his way, Ask Petrov.
Alonso is in meltdown, choking, Oh and Kimi Raikkonen is STILL Ferrari’s last world champion, that will be true at the end of this season also
Correction: Meant to say in NOT dirty driver.
Kimi should of lifted or braked. It is clear he had no where to go. Alonso never pushed Kimi out, he Alonso is not worried of Kimi, his target is p3 or Vettel. Assuming being P6 on the grid my target is podium P3 and podium if not the win. Considering Vettel had strong pace Alonso would have been okay with podium and still leading with 5 races to go in the WDC. As he still does currently.
Alonso is a dirty driver. He is respected. If Kimi feels he got pushed out why is he not barking at Alonso for his mistake? Know why? Because it was Kimi’s fault and not Alonso.
I already thought of this before the article was posted. However I have came to conclusion that it was a “race incident”
Clearly in 2012 Suzuka GP Alonso started behind Grosjean and Kimi behind Alonso. Alonso had a great start and I can assume veered left to avoid Grosjean due to his accident he caused at Spa and being critical it was a must for Alonso to come from P6 to P3 within the opening lap.
Alonso was unsuccessful because Kimi punctured his tire thus to what I just explained above. Watch the reply. Alonso is 1 car length ahead of Kimi and Kimi knows you cannot pass anyone outside.
Pfft..This article is rubbish..
But not half as rubbish as some of the comments on here!
C’mon guys grow up..this is F1..errors are made by somebody or the other..Only the men on the scene know who’s fault it is..It was just a RACING INCIDENT..They are all good drivers, alonso vettel kimi n many others..lets just enjoy the show and stop fighting over who’s fault it was..:-)
Conspiracy, he says. Lets see, which team has been forced to change the car all over the year to help Ferrari? = Red bull. Alonso cryied for hours when Vettel blocked him, what happened in Japan? He did exactly the same to Raikkonen, left NO space and threw him out of track causing Kimi to touch him. Who was helped by Flavio Briatore (Biggest cheater ever) and Nelson Piquet Jr. in Singapore? Alonso, seriously, shut the f up.
Who is Manuel Franco a Spanish newspaper reporter obviously a nobody:
I wonder how much Marko has paid this nobody to print this deflecting eyes off the Red Bull.
Woohoo… let’s see which driver to be blame for next Alonso’s retirement. Alonso is a PERFECT driver, he will NEVER make mistake just remember this. The mistake ought to be the one touches with him. That’s the rule!!
no worries people.it was alonso’s fault. And nothing is lost,5 races still to go and Alonso still leads the championship. And hopefully he is gonna win it this year(atleast thats what I pray for)
@Kumar
“He is not a true racer, He needs some one help to win races( Either his team mate or Front runner to fail to finish)”
He was beating the likes of Schumacher & raikkonnen and their Ferraris and Mclarens to world champion titleS, before he was 25…at those times you probably did not even know what F1 was, so I kind of understand your ignorance. Back then Hamilton and Vettel were watching F1 in the soffa at home.
You should watch the Japanese GP again, Alonso is the one climbed all over Kimi when he had no cars on his right.
If you like conspiracies read about the real one here.
What a load of nonsense. As if Lotus would sacrifice their cars and results and risk it all by deliberately causing accidents.
You seriously telling me the Spa incident was scripted ??
This is so typical of Spain to come up with something like this when their man is under pressure now.
Even if Kimi had a grudge, and to be honest I dont think he give a toss, he wouldn’t sacrifice his car and own results to knock out Alonso. The best revenge would be beating him.
This story is complete rubbish.
There’s a trend emerging here, “Always someone robs Alonso”, it was boring years ago and its boring now, Alonso thinks the rules apply to everyone but himself, all i’m waiting for now is for Felipe to “accidentally” crash and bring out an opportune safety car.
Fernando Alonso, Melto Downo, Butto Hurto.
You guy’s need to calm down, Alonso was just reacting to the Mclaren on the right hand side of him. It was no one’s fault. It get’s tight going into that first corner. You read way to much into it. RACING INCIDENT.
Quattro man seriously just keep ur thinking to urself
Alonso had a judgement error he couldn’t see that black car of kimi n he touched
Kimi was avoiding it
N really Ferrari need more speed now to beat Vettel
In 2010 it was his inability to pass petrov
Maybe lotus is unlucky for him but it’s his former team if u knw
Alanso always look for others to fail and get more points. You see most of his wins came, because the front runner have failed to finish(Many races in 2005, 2006 Japan, 2010 Korea………..) Importantly 2010 Germany.
In 2010 at Abudhabi, he was unable to pass Vitaly and crying like he blocked him.
He is not a true racer, He needs some one help to win races( Either his team mate or Front runner to fail to finish)
F1 2012 Japan (Conspiracy Theory)
a). Why is there no, onboard camera footage from Kimi’s car. But there is on board footage from Romain Grosjean, hitting Webber?
b). Also; durning the end of qualifying, Kimi spins & parks his car, yellow flags? (What Happen to: Alonso & Others).
Remember: MSchumacher, when he also parked his car at Monaco,
How Benetton Complained?
Isn’t just beautiful weather outhere today? My coffee tastes great, I am off to the gym in an hour, and hopefully once I return I can read much more crap stories on these websites. We seem like a bunch of girls trying to discuss whether we like red or green as the new outfit. I am surprised that Schumacher was not to blame for this crash, as he was pushed out by Mercedes, could not find a drive and decided to push all drivers off the track just to be on the podium. The internet gets filled with all this crap, servers need to be cooled, people remain their jobs, all this is servicing is to keep smiling and be happy. Read-on.
@Quattro
Are you butt hurt that your hero Alonzo screwed up and now like him you want to blame Kimi for Alonso own mistake?
Alonso is 1000% at fault in his contact with Kimi. Alonso is also Formula Ones biggest cry baby.
I seem to remember last year Alonso forced Vettel off the track and got no penalty yet this year it was reversed with Vettel forcing Alonso off the track and Vettel got a penalty.
Alonso has gotten away with a lot of crap and in reality for his forcing Kimi on purpose off the track at the start of the race at the first corner Alonso should receive the same penalty that Grosjean received a one race ban. Now Quattro why don’t you go sit in a corner and suck your thumb.
you FOOLS
firstly open ur eyes an watch kimi go on grass then make contact with alonso( only 10cm of kimi;s wing next to back wheel) READ RULES ON CONTACT….
2ND
ALONSO IS CONSIDERED THE BEST IN THE SPORT BY 95%CURRENT GRID, AND RETIERED DRIVERS
REST WHAT EVER MAKES YOU GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT…
It is not surprising how fast the Alonso/Ferrari haters will shout “Alonsos fault”. I am sure that, if you could, you would contribute most of the worlds problems to Alonso/Ferrari.
The Susuka incident. Well, another Lotus incident what more can I say? Kimi goes off track, chooses to not back off even though he is off track. Instead he keeps the power pedal down, rejoins the track and hits the Ferrari. It is very obvious if you look at it from the Massa onboard photage. Maldonado was penalized in Valencia this year with a driver through for doing the exact same offence, i e rejoining the track after being off, in an unsafe manner. Why Kimi was not penalized? Well, this would not be the first time stewards seem to be sleeping during an event. In Susuka qualifying, Vettel and RB team did a blatant blocking maneuver on Alonso in the closing stages of Q3 – did Vettel recieve any meaningful penalty by thos same stewards?
I saw someone was referring to BBC saying Vettel was better than Alonso. One simple question is warranted then – Based on what? Everything Vettel has achieved was done in (and everyone should agree on this one I think) very very dominant package. Alonso have done as much, in much worse equipment. As a matter of fact Alonso beat Vettel and the dominant RB package, in a slower Ferrari in 2010 – until his team committed a strategi error that gave a way the title. The exact same can be said about 2012, but Lotus have robbed him of at least 36 points thus far (SPA + Susuka) – i e he would have been 40 points ahead of Vettel in the faster RB. Those who have followed BBC coverage for a couple of years, and are fairly neutral AND rational will have seen that BBC consistently try to grab every possibility to discredit Alonso and Ferrari. In my eye they have not achieved anything but to discredit their own professionalism. The fact that they put Vettel before someone like Alonso does nothing but proves it.
Japan’s carsh with Kimi was Alsono’s fault. End of story.
Using his normal dirty tactics of pushing someone off it came back to bite him as Kimi bounced back on to the track, just as Alonso move further over to the left. The blame for this crash can only be with Alonso.
It was about time Alonso’s luck changed. Simply sitting back and waiting for others to fail to finish and collecting their points isn’t F1 racing.
Alonso is an ordinary driver, some websites have ranked Vettel higher than Alonso (BBC Sports)
Its all clear in the video replay that Alonso is the one who touch Kimi’s front wing, Kimi even went to the grass a little to avoid him… and he blames Kimi for not lifting, and concede the place… he probably forgot this racing. . .
Excuses excuses excuses!!! was a racing incident!
Fernando was repeatedly looking at the mirrors while squeezing Kimi into the grass while having plenty of place on his right. He got no one but him self to blame, he alone set up the whole thing. Not much conspiracy there.
I think Red Bull would be more successful in fuelling alternator conspiracy.
It is all bull s..t… it was fernando who contacted raikonen in Japan, and it Spa it was all mess that ended up fernando out…anyways nothing is more cheap than talks
