Ferrari boss says Hamilton move is blow to McLaren

14 October, 2012

(L to R): Lewis Hamilton (GBR) McLaren with Stefano Domenicali (ITA) Ferrari General Director. Formula One World Championship, Rd 4, Turkish Grand Prix, Qualifying Day, Istanbul Park, Turkey, Saturday 7 May 2011.Oct.14 (GMM) Stefano Domenicali has dismissed claims that Lewis Hamilton has made a bad choice by electing to move from McLaren to Mercedes and in fact says that the Woking team has lost a big asset.

Told by an interviewer it might not be the wisest choice for the 2008 world champion, Ferrari team boss Domenicali said: “Mercedes has enormous potential.

“It has invested heavily in the past three years and has not achieved the results it expected. But it is doing everything in its power to win,” he told El Pais newspaper.

“Hamilton has seen this potential that has not yet materialised. What is clear,” added the Italian, “is that McLaren has lost a tremendous asset. After Fernando [Alonso], Vettel and [ he] are the fastest ones.”

Meanwhile, Domenicali defended Alonso’s teammate Felipe Massa, amid intense speculation in Korea that the 31-year-old will be retained in 2013.

“There is no evidence,” he said, “that he is still suffering either medically or mentally from the accident he had three years ago.

“I think what happened is that he suffered more than his teammate with the cars we have designed lately.

“Another element to consider is that it is not easy for anyone to have someone like Fernando as your teammate. You have to be very mature to accept how good he is.

“That’s something we experienced with Schumacher as well – when we had someone next to him who is able to recognise that Schumacher was faster, everything was perfect.

“When he [the number 2] tries to prove that he is better and he does not, problems appear,” added Domenicali.

So funny the above comments, Hamilton is a great driver, just as good as Alonso, he needs a team (and some fans) who aren’t constantly putting him down. After all, being an armchair critic like you isn’t a very intelligent occupation people!

Alonso has proven that he is fast even with a slow car, Hamilton on the other hand needs a perfect car to be fast…

Vettel doesn’t do shit without a very good car under is ass, see what happend in the middle of the seasoon (btw,he only cought up because of 2 DNF of Alonso)
And the maFIA ,as i call it, is and always have been helping Sebastian “Little Finger” Vettel and is band of cheaters and liers (see Horner, Marko and Newey)

What can I say? Lol, very romantic affair between and Alfonso. Alfonso, The fastest? I doubt it! In equal equipment Hamilton humiliated Alfonso in his rookie year. Vetted has been humiliating him for 3 years now. Alfonso is probably the fourth fastest driver in F1. And that’s when he gets help from maFIA and Nelson Piquet.
