Alonso laments superiority of Red Bull but remains confident

In the wake of a dominant performance by Red Bull, with Sebastioan Vettel and Mark Webber locking out the front row for the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, their arch rival Fernando Alonso has lamented the ‘superiority’ of the world champions but nevertheless remains confident.
The Spaniard said after Sunday’s qualifying, “After winter testing, it was difficult to draw any conclusions and that was also the case today, with a delayed qualifying and very changeable weather conditions. Once again, Red Bull demonstrated its superiority.”
But added, “I am very pleased with this result, because if our aim for the year is to reduce the gap to our competitors and start from better positions than we have done in the past two seasons, we can claim to have managed it.”
“I think that starting from fifth, a podium finish is a realistic option,” said the Ferrari driver who heads up the fourth row on the Albert Park grid.
His teammate Felipe Massa will start from fourth. (Apex)
